Levantine Arabic Present Tense: Conjugation Tables for 12 Verbs

In spoken Levantine Arabic the everyday present tense starts with بـ. It covers what you do now and what you usually do: بَدرُس means both “I study” and “I’m studying”.

How it’s formed

Take the verb’s present stem, add a prefix for the person (بَـ, بِتْـ / بتِـ, بِـ, بِنْـ / بنِـ), and add ـي for “you (f.)” or ـوا for the plurals.
